Check out the online courses through the Course Exchange!
It's basically an online system that allows you to take online courses at OTHER participating California community colleges, while being a student at Mt. SAC and having those online courses count for your Mt. SAC credits. Sounds awesome right?
The purpose of the Course Exchange is to expand student access to classes that may not be available when they need them at their home (primary) college. Course Exchange gives students an opportunity to take an online class offered at a participating college (teaching college) that would be accepted by their home college. To learn more about the Course Exchange please watch the videos below.
As determined by the Home College (Mt. San Antonio College), students who are included in one or more of the following categories are currently NOT eligible to participate in the Course Exchange this term:
Colleges participating in the Exchange Consortium have agreed to a Federal Financial Aid consortium agreement. Under agreement the Home College will be responsibility for the distribution of Financial Aid awards for Exchange students. If you are eligible for federal Financial Aid at your home college, you may be able to have your teaching college units and home college units combined counted towards your maximum financial aid award.
Students are strongly encouraged to contact a counselor to ensure you are registering for classes on your educational plan. Online counseling appointments are available by clicking below.
As determined by the Home College (Mt. San Antonio College), students who are included in one or more of the following categories are currently NOT eligible to participate in the Course Exchange this term:
Mt. SAC students must meet all eligibility criteria and be registered in at least one credit course before being eligible for the Course Exchange.
You will be required to pay the fees for all registered classes, including up to 2 classes in the Course Exchange. After completing the registration process for your Course Exchange courses, you will be directed on-screen to the teaching college’s payment system so that you can pay for your Course Exchange course. Please note that this will be a different system than your home college system since you will be paying your tuition for the teaching college course directly to the teaching college.
If you use services from Access Center (formerly Disabled Students Programs and Services), then please use that resource to provide accommodations for your classes. As needed for your educational success, Access Center at Mt. SAC may share information about your accommodation needs with the Teaching College DSPS staff.
As a Mt. SAC student, if you take a Mt. SAC class through the Course Exchange, that class grade will be recorded on your transcript.
If you're a Mt. SAC student and your Teaching College is a college other than Mt. SAC, then you will need to contact that college's Admissions & Records department and request for them to transfer your credits to your Home College (Mt. SAC, in this instance). Every college has a different procedure, so please be sure to contact their Admissions & Records department for information on that process.
In order to drop a Course Exchange class you will need to access the student portal of the Teaching College and initiate the drop from there. Please note: Dropping this class may affect your financial aid if you receive aid to pay for this class. You may want to contact your Home College financial aid office.

Students wishing to drop/withdraw from an Exchange course offered at a Teaching College must adhere to the policies of that Teaching College (Mt. San Antonio College). It is the student's responsibility to officially drop a class in which he/she no longer wishes to be enrolled. Before attempting to drop or withdraw, please consult with a counselor because it may adversely affect your academic standing and financial aid package. If you are receiving maximum financial aid as a result of combined units from both the Home College and Teaching College, withdrawing from your Exchange course may result in a change in your financial aid status and can affect your financial aid disbursement. Students who receive financial aid disbursements and have withdrawn from Exchange courses should contact his/her Home College Financial Aid Office. You may contact the (Mt. San Antonio College) Financial Aid Office at (909) 274-4450 or financialaid@mtsac.edu.
If you currently receive services or accommodations from Disabled Student Programs and Services (DSPS) and will require services or accommodations for the Exchange course you are taking at the Teaching College (Mt.
